I really wonder what their strategy is with their MSRP? It seems they list the MSRP very high and then imediately offer their products to retailers way below MSRP. This is similar to how things are done in other industries to create a false sense of value. I noticed this with the Sigma 70-200 f2.8 OS. I just bought it a month ago for $1,399 new. Sigma lists the MSRP on their web site at $2,470. Sigma 70-200 f2.8 OS | | | | | Sponsored Links | Premium Members do not see Google advertisements. SIGN UP today and help support our community.

We interrupt this forum to bring you this special report....
The Opium fields next to the Sigma research and development plant recently caught fire. Environmental officials were able to use this incident to confirm the dangers of second hand smoke, given the recent production and pricing of the Sigma SD1. No word yet as to when the fires will be contained, or when the staff at Sigma will gain their sobriety.

The Luminous Landscape
Reichmann is testing one now. Should be interesting to hear his results, especially considering his typical shooting gear. (A900, Phase One IQ180 back,, M9, etc)

IQ looks really good. I'd like to see it full size though, especially if they are claiming to compete with MF.

•Not quite in Leica M9 territory though...could be the lenses as much as anything else
•The Pentax 645D is in another league. The SD1 is no competitor to even the lower end of the current medium format market

Reichmann and Nick Devlin's review and comparisons to the Sony A900 and A55, Pentax 645D and Leica M9. The really nice part is he compared excellent PRINTS from each and not just on screen.
