I like the full frame cameras. I'd guess one would be about as good as another (dollar constrained only). I have a D700 I really like. A D3X might be nicer for the pixel density but I'd have to trade in one of my cars to get it.. D3X would be ultimate for me. D3x and a $20 manual focus 28mm lens and I'd be done..

You could go A900/A850.
