Mamiya Tripod? - 07-05-2011, 04:53 PM

Anyone know about a Mamiya Tripod?

I found a Mamiya 1504 Tripod in the back of my parents' garage. Are they any good? Sturdy? Heavy duty?

I can't find any info on the net at all about it.

Strange.

Thanks!!

Sounds a lot like a Bogen (when they were Bogen, not Italian) tripod I bought in the 70s. Still going strong today.
Use it. It's the best kind of tripod: FREE!

Include photos. Somebody here may own, or have owned, one.

I knew that. Where did you find the specs.? I turned up the ebay listing, but didn't see a description.
To the OP: did you ask your parents about the history of the tripod?

Suggestion: Put your heaviest camera and lens on tripod. Take pictures. You will in a few minutes if it will work for you.

Sorry Soory Sorry!!! I am sort of sorry that I haven't responded - I've been in VEGAS since last Wednesday!! WOOO HOOOO!!!
Had lots of fun! It was my son's 21st birthday - so took him to Vegas for it. Thank goodness he has a bitchin cool mom! hee*hee

Wayne? You bought it in the 70's? HOLY MOLY... I was born in the 70's...lol
It does look a bit like that. I will have to pull it out and compare it more. Since being out of town, I haven't messed with it.

TC - thanks for the specs - sometime this week I will do all the comparing and see how it works.
I am up for a freebie here and there! I wasn't about to lug it to Vegas though.

Thanks for your help guys!!!

Thanks for mentioning that.

Slap a camera on the tripod and use it. Tripods aren't too fussy about what you put on them.
