Focusing screen - Canon - 07-11-2011, 09:54 PM

Does anyone here have any experience with these?

I tried looking for an EE-S which I guess is the one I would need so I can use it with faster lenses but I haven't had any luck finding one. I have come across some non-Canon branded focusing screens.

Is this the sort of device that pretty much works the same way and is ok to buy off-brand? TIA for any input!

question about focusing screens.... I understand the benifit of switching out screens to one that might be better suited for MF glass but I was wondering if changing screens will actually speed up the AF of the lens or body? are there focusing screens that are designed for people that need fast AF response?

From what I understand, focusing screens are replacements for the viewfinder, which would in no way affect AF. Although I may be wrong.

I don't think they affect AF at all. I want one because there are times when I prefer to MF (or can't use AF like when I use my Lensbaby). Because of how I hold my camera, it's a pain to wear glasses and I was hoping that a focusing screen would help.

No the Focusing screen is just for the Photog....when shooting MF...the crazy thing...is it's easier to shoot MF with my D2x now...that I turn off AF when I use that camera...

Talk about things going full circle...
