Thanks, cool vid.

iPad's have the neato factor but I think flipping through a real book with a client is better when meeting in person. The ipad is useful for impromptu meetings. Right now I'm using a simple, inexpensive book from Texas Art, but it works well. It uses a bunch of rings in the spine so changing out pages, adding/removing, or rearranging is easy. It lays flat. Easy to flip through. Expandable. And it's clean, simple and modern looking.
Can't remember the name offhand, but it's similar to this...

Most likely, the commercial clients I meet with have already seen my website, but I like to bring this along to talk about specific things or maybe show them something that's not on my website or refresh their memory about something they've already seen.

I agree on the printing. I am using an 11x14 Itoya with the ultra clear pages or whatever they are called. I never show it to anyone anyway. haha

Just a side note that Andy's a good guy, very knowledgeable and one of the smartest guys I know when it comes to printing an image. He printed out a large photo for me once and it's the highest quality print I've ever had done. The guy knows his stuff.

The pages make a HUGE difference. I was using the cheaper books and they sucked by comparison. I was always pulling the prints out of the pages.

RB1114 Itoya Art Profolio Multi-Ring Binder 11" x 14", Black

That's the one I have now. Aaron Brothers tend to have them and you can get the 40-40% off coupons pretty easily. Hobby Lobby has actually had the refill pages too.

I'm also finishing up a custom designed architecture book right now from blurb that I can bring to potential clients. Taking the portfolio one step further.

Nice! I bought an archival box to put some of my 11x14s in when I reorganize my books. I really need to do that, just never have the time.

Agreed... I wish there was 32 hours in a day... that way I can work my regular job, get decent sleep and have enough time for hobbies, do things around the house and spend time with my family.....
