Arrow First Impression: Fuji X100 @ 3200 ISO - 09-02-2011, 03:13 PM

I bought a Fuji X100 the other day as a belated birthday present to myself (yea that's how I roll) and have spent a little time shooting with it last night.

I really wanted to test it out at high ISO's since that was one of the main reasons I was purchasing it for. Anyways heres a quick test shot from last night... more in depth review/overview coming soon once I really run the camera through its paces.

Fuji X100 : 1/25th : f/2 : 3200 ISO : 23mm : Manual Mode : 0 Bias : No Flash : Handheld

Final edit: Edited in Lightroom, exported to CS5, Ran through Noiseware, resized, Smart Sharpened (Amount 93% , Radius 0.3px), added logo.

Shot right out of camera. Resized only, no sharpening.

Ran through Noiseware, resized, no sharpening.

100% crops of original file and file after Noiseware. No sharpening added.

All in all I am impressed with the camera's handling at this ISO level and I plan to see how far I can push it while still being happy with the output after editing of course. I'll be taking it out again tonight to see how it does. =)

Thanks

Nice photos of the corner that you work... ;)

That's a heck of a gift to yourself! So when is the x100 photowalk? ;)

It would be a "shoot shoot, pass" x100 photowalk :)

This breaks my heart that I couldn't order one yesterday... but, on a happier note, congrats! Nice shot, I look forward to seeing more from the x100.

I see these interesting little cameras, and have felt tempted, especially when I see images such as these. Thanks for sharing!

thanks a ton, so far ive gotten a lot of curious onlookers and even comments about the camera of photogs and non photogs that love it just for the retro look. it funny when i shoot a photo through the viewfinder and then do a quick chimp/preview on the lcd screen and theyre like "whoa, thats digital!?"

I really want one of those, and was just about to do the same thing since I just had a birthday. I figured I could buy myself what I really wanted for my 60th. Then I was doing the bills at the end of the month and realized that my auto insurance, homeowners insurance, and my quarterly IRS payment are all due in mid September. It looks like I'll be waiting a little longer.

I like the vented hood!

Just wish it would allow lens changes or at least a zoom capability.
