i seriously doubt thats her camera...

now had she did it with a 5dmk2 then maybe id buy the idea that she really does that to her own camera.

edit. ok i see thats NOT how she does it but a reader of her blog. crazy. i wouldnt have posted it on her blog thinking that some of her readers may actually try it. ugh

I have seen one cleaner that was applied to a sensor and peeled off, removing any gunk. But tape, I don't think so. And if adhesive sticks to the sensor, get a clean piece of tape and do it again. Who restarted my heart between those steps?

this isn't as far-fetched as it seems. an adhesive is technically a good cleaner, the trick is the adhesive you use. Rather than Scotch tape I would use an even lighter adhesive such as a Post-It. Since all you are after are dust and such, the very light adhesive on a Post-It should be more than adequate. In fact overkill as how does one get stuff STUCK to the sensor so firmly that a blower or even brush can't dislodge?

Still I ain't gonna do it.

Better than tape. Tape = MacGiver but on a bad day.

Duct tape is the way to go. It will pull your sensor out so it is easier to clean.

Like my son and his contacts, take it out, some spit to clean it, put it back and you're golden.

I actually saw it done, other than being scary it worked pretty well. I might have to do it after this wedding now that I can see dust bunnies at 2.8.
