I've rented the Sigma 50 1.4 and even though I hear problems with it's focusing, the copy I tried was ace.

Debating myself between the Canon or Sigma 50 1.4. Going to upgrade from my Canon 50 1.8 lens.

Well I have to say that the 35mm 1.8 was amazing. I have never shot with it before. I will need to add this lens to my bag and finally get rid of the kit lens I've been carrying.

I own the Sigma 24-70 2.8. The lens is sharpest at 5.6 and up. At 2.8 the images are crap and would only hit that low if I really really needed to. If I had to do it all over again, I would have actually spent the money on the Nikkor 24-70 2.8.
