Nikon 1 Sensor Size Comparison Chart
I am a big proponent for camera sensor sizes over number of megapixels so I thought I would get a quick graphic together showing the Nikon 1 series cameras in comparison to others currently on the market. | | | | | Sponsored Links | Premium Members do not see Google advertisements. I agree with you 100%. Many time people/photogs get wrapped up in the megapixels. | | | |

Just added the Nikon D7000 SLR camera to the listing.. it's hard to believe that the Fuji and the Sony both have sensors the SAME size as the Nikon D7000 SLR Body. wow. | | | |

The sensor size now allows me to capture that shallow depth of field that has always alluded me because all of the point and shoots I've owned have had tiny sensors. | | | |

Smaller is just not hearty - light gatherin in too small a bucket. Optimal Sensor Size or frame size - is a more personal matter matter ..
If you really want to know ... Give me the larger Full Frame in all its glory !!
--------------------------- Its not the size of your sensor that matters ... its what you do with it that counts !! But if you must know we girls talk who has the biggest ... and uses it best !!

Once I went to FF almost 3 years ago I don't think I could ever go back to a crop SLR body. I. Am. Spoiled. | | | |

Well, I sure hope Canon's mirrorless is at least APS-C. I will say this about the G-series, I do enjoy the smaller sensor for photographing tiny things(wedding rings, bugs, coins, products). If one has a good exposure at ISO 80, that G-sensor can produce incredible results. I didn't buy my G11 for that purpose, however, that's just what it got relegated to after I saw it's horrible ISO 200 files. Forget it at anything higher than ISO 80. If the 16mm sensor in the new Nikon can handle ISO 400 better than the G-series can handle ISO 200, I would consider adding such a device to my collection, if Canon were to release one. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
