I am assuming that comment was to me.
First of all I didn't actually mention chimping. That to me is looking at every shot. Even is someone does that, I would not tell them that is a bad thing.
Some of us who shot film for years (in my case 30 film + 12 digital), we learned to be very disciplined and did not take several shots of the same pose. We certainly did not take hundreds of shots for a portrait setting, but it is good to look occasionally, especially if I am trying a completely new style of lighting.
But I am not sure what the harm is if a person looks at every image. If that is their routine, why should anyone chastise them for it?
Secondly, if it is incorrect to delete in the camera, why have the manufactures bothered to have that feature on their cameras, and to give instructions on how to do it ?
