Monopod Question

I went to one of my recent games that I shot -- 300 f/2.8 with the 7d and grip handheld -- found a random sequence of tracking the running back. This is late in the 4th quarter.

It's really not that hard to do -- nor is it that heavy

I use a Benro monopod with the extractable legs and a Moanfroto head. I don't use the legs or head when shooting sports which I've only done a couple of times but they come in great when doing dance recitals in fairly low light.
