I live in the metroplex and I would be interested to know how your repair experience goes if you are willing to share it. I have found that most repair shops end up really just saying they have to send your camera to the manufacturer. Then you have to pay to get a quote, etc... About six months ago I broke the LCD on my D300 I ended up just ordering the part off of Ebay and thanks to Youtube and Google I did the repair myself. It cost me about $25 and so far it is still as good as new. Fingers crossed that it stays that way.
