I just downloaded this:
astrojargon - Home

Supposedly it works for Canon 5Dmk2's as well...

Got mine in January 2009 and now it has 46,807 actuations.

I really thought I had more than that on there... lol

I have just about 18,000 on my D-700 but also use my D-300 and various other cameras. I think I bought one of the first D-700s to arrive at Camera Co-Op so thats how long I've had it. Maybe I should be out there getting more shots!

Wow, you guys shoot a lot...lol.

My 350D (don't use it much) has close to 10,000.

All my other cameras are film, so there's no way to know - but I suspect they're all under 10k. All but one is used though, so there's really no way to know...

Another new one will be coming in the mail tomorrow, so I'll be starting at zero on that one. :)

121662 on the 5D Mark II (bought in Jan 2010 with 4,000 actuations)

It didn't work on my 7D or 1D3.

I have 37K+ or so on my A900. 2500 on my NEX5, seems like it should be a lot more but I guess it does not account for video.

As good as it is to know, don't fall into the trap of worrying about it. I've seen many people treat shutter actuations as if it were an absolute indicator of camera condition.

I was able to get 25% over market value for a D80 because of sub-2,000 shutter count (bought the camera for my dad, and he never took it out because it was too inconvenient). My own D80 was sent to Nikon because of a shutter failure at 14,000.

I got a D90 for $400 nearly a year ago, from a high school dad who decided he was a photographer. He shot the D90 for a year, got the shutter count up to 65,000 using the "spray and pray" method of taking pictures, and got scared it would break within the next year for him, so he bought himself a new one.

Last, my current camera, a D200, was given to me for $150 based on the assumption that it was about to die, due to it having a shutter count of 115,000. The shutter was fine, but I eventually sent the camera in to Nikon for other issues, like a sticky thumb dial that was getting in my way.

So, if a shutter failure happens, then it happens. Nikon will repair the camera for cheap. So will Canon, but with them you have the added benefit of their loyalty trade-up program. Don't let it get in the way of using your camera.

I ran a program I had found for my 550D/T2i and it had just over 27k. Not one single hiccup.
