FWIW, this is the color of my M9 and at first I thought that only chrome lenses would look right but I now have a mix of chrome and black lenses and they all look beautiful attached to the front.

From the business end of the camera, you don't know. The camera doesn't care. The sensor material doesn't care.

That said, I have always had a fondness for the hammertone finish. I also like the look of my black 90mm lens on my black M5. I wish I could afford a chrome M5 for the chrome lenses.

Next question: What color strap? What color Luigi half case?

Not too shabby at all. Very nice.

ps: For anyone not familiar with chrome lenses from The Dark Ages, the exterior of these lenses is real honest to goodness heavily plated metallic chrome over real honest to goodness heavy brass metal. Like your grandfather's Oldsmobile bumpers. No plastic at all. Dense. Solid. Last a lifetime.

The wee Konica UC-Hexanon 35mm/2.0 shown earlier is an even rarer breed. Black enamel paint over brass. Like Tiffany & Faberge made jewelry. And Y'all thought L lenses were well built.

Looks like Amazon has it in stock.

I chose the black one, but I would've been fine with this one. I also bought the Luigi natural aged brown half case, with built-in grip. I bought three lenses, all black, 35 Summicron, 50 Summicron , and 90 Elmarit-M. Would love to have a lens that ends in "lux" but I'm very happy with what I have for now.
