Carrying suggestions - 11-10-2011, 08:39 PM

I will be covering a Veterans Day Event tomorrow with my Canon 40D and 24-70mm F 2.8 L lens with a Canon 580 EXII. I normally use a ThinkTank Photo belt that I use to put my Canon 70-200mm F 2.8 in a long pouch and carry batteries in another. I also have a Canon 10D as a backup.

My question is:

Should I shoot as I normally do or carry two cameras each with a lens on it?

Sounds like you'll be shooting journalistic style. How often do you anticipate lens changes?
If you will be swapping lenses often and time is of essence, hang your primary lens on the 40 and the other on the 10.

In similar situations, I go in with two cameras. I usually have my 70-300L on my 7D and a 17-40L on my 40D. If I am carrying only one flash, hot shoeing it in a crowd, I stick it on my wide lens where it is most likely to be used.

Hope that helps.
