A few weeks ago I bought a cheep light modifier kit. I like the 5-in-1 reflector, telescoping boom arm, and the stand. What I did not care for was how the the boom attached to the stand. It just did not feel steady and there was no way to counter balance the weight of the reflector. So I spent about half as much again on a decent lighting grip, the Avenger D200B.
When attached to the stand, the Avenger D200 feels steady. It allows me the opportunity to counter balance though it does not feel like it needs one. The clamp has several slots for various diameter poles so that you may get the one that most closely fits your situation. The clamp is easy to use and allows for quick adjustments.
Needless to say, I am happy with my purchase and wanted to share my experience. Maybe someone else will not have to search as hard as I did.
