My coworker just ask me to take pictures of their upcoming baby. Does anyone know the lens that Tracy Raver typically use to take pictures of her newborns in props.

A 50 (either 1.4 or 1.2) would be my guess as that is what I've seen a lot of baby photographers use. Looking at the EXIF data on this image, she shot 50 @ f/1.4 (Nikon).

A fast 50 looks about right to me too. The few newborn shoots I've done the I've used my 50 f/1.4. Good working distance and the shallow dof works well for babies.
