i am starting a wrestling club. one of the things i want is to take photos of the kids in action for the parents..it will also be a bit of a fund raiser.

what would be the best lens for this? everyone knows how bad the lighting is inside the gyms.

i am leaning twards the canon 85mm 1.8...i dont think i will need a zoom as the wrestlers arent running up and down the court

The 85 is probably a good choice.

I agree. The 85 is good from the distance you'll if you're on the floor in a typical gym.

If you have control/access of the gym, consider using a strobe or two or three. This will allow you to use your 28-135mm lens, and ensure an adequate depth of field.
