Nikon D300s help - 11-30-2011, 12:10 AM

I don't know what happened to make it do this, but I set it on live view just playing around and now when I shoot something this is on my display. It does it on the normal display, I can put it on the highlights view and it's gone but this is really annoying. Help?

It shows the bracket and AF points.

Wouldn't your first inclination be to google the problem, or just RTFM? There is a Q&A index at the beginning of your manual. If you don't have one, download it for free from the Nikon webpage. Page viii, under the "Viewing Photographs" section, has this zinger:
Question- How do I tell where the camera focused?
Key phrase- Display mode: focus point
See page- 250

Why couldn't you just offer help without the snarky comments? People come here for assistance, not attitude.

For those that don't know how to fix the OP's original problem, it is a setting in the menu to show you upon review of images where your focus was. It is an easy menu option to change.

On my 300, moving the selector button (big round one on the back or the joystick button on the grip) up and down will cycle through the various display modes. (Left and right goes forward and back through the save images.) Easier to do than going through the menu system.

Now on my D300, moving the selector button up and down cycles through the histogram and other camera settings. Now, if I set the focal points to show up upon review I have to set that up in the menus and then they appear when I preview the image. I may be wrong though, so tonight I will play with the camera to see what new wonders I have not discovered yet. LOL!

This menu option is on page 250 in the D300 manual and on page 247 in the D300s manual. All these settings will change your playback photo information appearance thus giving you the OPs original image posting.
