Where to buy gear?

I am about to make a significant investment in new gear (5Dii and 1 or 2 L lenses), and I'm wondering what the advantages are to purchasing gear through Houston Camera Exchange, Adorama or B&H vs. Amazon. I can see the obvious benefit of supporting retailers that cater to the photography community - but on the other hand, saving $400-$500 on my total purchase is awfully tempting (and I'm not just talking about sales tax - I won't pay that anywhere). Are there any other benefits to purchasing through a photography-specific retailer?

Amanda, all of the retailers you have mentioned are great to deal with.. which ever you decide to go with you should do well with. There are B&H and Adorama links as well. The links that are automatically generated in my post here will work.

Then you can see the prices for each of the individual stores that amazon deals with and then you can select which vendor you would like to purchase from. I'd spend a little more to go with a vendor i trust rather than to try a new place out etc.

B&H or Adorama. I only buy Canon USA. These two store also offer "imported". A little cheaper but not worth the extra savings.
