Default $640.00 to repair autofocus on Sigma 120-300 2.8

Still can't believe my eyes. Sigma is charging $640.00 to repair the autofocus on my Sigma 120-300 2.8.

I didn't drop it, break it, misuse it... it just stopped working.

Quite a dilemma as I don't even use it for business anymore, just my kid's sports.

Originally paid $1700 for it used now I sure don't want to drop another $640.00 on it but neither do I want to see the $1700 just go down the drain.

Sell it at a reduced rate and be upfront about the repairs needed? Unfortunately you don't have too many options. You could also look into taking it to a repair shop instead of sending it to Sigma.
