Award for losing a camera part the quickest - 12-28-2011, 08:05 AM

Does anyone know of a camera store that might have the hot shoe cover for the Nikon V1?

I was showing it to family on Christmas and apparently it popped off when one of the sibblings was looking at it. I think it went to the place where lost socks go when you can't find the one sock to match.

I've checked competitive, Arlington, BH, Adorama, Samy's etc...

Thanks, ya'll.

Other than losing this cover, I am liking the camera :)

I take mine off, put it in a drawer and never put it back on until I sell the camera. Of course, I use my flash pretty often. If you don't use an external flash I can see why you would want the cover. I'm sure you can find one on eBay or Amazon for cheap. Ebay is really good for little parts like that.

Same story for my D300s, the rubber molded plug to close the battery grip contacts disappeared. Gaffers tape solved the this Nikon item not sold in stores problem. Then after almost a year the plug mysteriously re-appeared.

I'm thinking pictures of the plug in front of the Pantheon and Parthenon should be arriving any day. Or would the be lounging on a beach.

Reference is to the folks who had a lawn bunny disappear, this was followed by a year or two of the yard bunny at world tourist sites.
