Muslin Protector?

Forgive my ignorance, but I purchased a set of muslins and they sent with them "muslin protectors". Any idea what these are and how they are used? They are the same color as the muslins I ordered (one for each), about half the length, and thinner material. I'm new at this and can't find anything on the internet about what they are used for or how. Thanks.

I use it layered behind the hanging part of the muslin. Helps with thinner muslin fabric from having light or reflections shine through.
