So I'm thinking about picking up a 70-200 2.8 IS/OS lens now that my finances are in order. I am thinking of either the mk1 version of the Canon or the Sigma OS version. Has anyone here ever used both to compare? I use to have the Canon one and am curious as far as the IQ, bokeh, and overall experience. Any info would be helpful. Thanks.

I'd save a little more and get the Canon 70-200 2.8L IS II. It's so much sharper, the AF so much faster, and the IS a little better than the I. I currently own some Sigma lenses, but I don't use them for anything serious, except my 20mm f/1.8. AF reliability or speed just isn't there. I haven't used the Sigma 70-200, although there are those on this forum who swear by them. Personally, I swear at them! Kidding! But I I think you will find that the Canons are definitely worth their extra cost. Between the build quality and fact that Canon lenses have better resale value, I get the Canon version of lenses when I can.
