Centon 32gb Class 10 SD Card problem - 01-05-2012, 12:13 PM

I bought this card a couple of months ago and have had this problem happen three times now. I'd be taking pictures and when I get done more than half of the pictures (first half) would be gone even though I was reviewing them in the camera. This card was placed in slot 1 of my D7000 and is set for RAW while slot 2 is set for jpg. This has not happened with any other cards I've used in the camera yet and I was testing with others afterwards on purpose using same shooting styles.

I've never had this problem with any of my other Centon cards but was wondering if this has happened to anyone else. I can put the card back in the camera after the computer and they no longer show up there either. Then again it could have been reading from the jpg card since I'm not sure what the review pulls from on the camera.

I've contacted the company and am waiting for their response to see what they say.

Clifton,

Cards can go bad. Didn't think that was possible because there are no moving parts but they can go bad. They also can have software compatibility issues. Google your card and see if others are experiencing the same problem. They usually have a serial number on them and can be traced.

I ONLY use professional cards now. Well worth the extra money. They have higher quality control specs. Most manufacturers will replace defective cards for free as well as recover the files off the bad cards and return the files to you on DVD. Is yours a professional grade?
