a camera manufacture were to design full-manual DSLR? No automatic anything, manual settings for WB, shutter, ISO, no video, no LCD, the works.....

If the processor, memory and controls were only there to capture & store the raw data, what would it be capable of doing?

My thinking is it would be capable of doing what any dslr camera can do. It would be entirely dependent on the skill level of the user, a somewhat scary thought when I think of my lack of proficiency with knowing all the technicals involved in setting up and taking a superior image.

Granted, but think of all the processing power that could be devoted to the photo. With so many pro-level photographers using full-manual mode, storage could be huge, & battery life could be expanded.

Hate me if you will....but....
I think it would cut down the amount of people, who buy a professional camera, and think they can start...say a wedding photography business....IMO

If your shooting RAW anyway, you don't want the image to be processed, so it's a matter of I/O and FPS. neither of which have much to do with processor.

so your not going to get anything 'extra'.

I honestly think I would've learned how to get a proper exposure more quickly. I don't know how many times, even 5-years in, that I relied on the LCD for a proper exposure. Looking at the LCD, it's easy to think there's enough light, or that you're even over-exposed, when in fact you're a stop - stop and a half dark.

Now, manual focus would be nice, actually. If todays viewfinders and lenses were designed for it, I'd use it more often.

Another fantastic truth. I hate that in order for me to see if something is in focus clearly, I need to buy a new view finder (or apparently get better eyes).

Are you being serious? I've spent a LOT of money for cameras and lenses over the years, but I would still have to win the lottery to consider getting anything Leica. Theyve priced themselves into a cute little niche where only people with more money than sense own them.

trust your meter... it has only one purpose, and will be correct 95% of the time... the other 5% it is easy to correct, without looking at the LCD...

MF on a Leica is amazing. You just have to remember to mind your frame lines.

More money then sense? I strongly disagree.
