Lack of response duly noted. So went ahead and bought one. In my decades of photographic work, I have bought and used almost all Nikkor + Canon pro lenses. Some were easy and some were hard to play with.
But the ZE 21mm just simply blew me away.
Nuff said.

Perhaps the lack of response is, quite simply, due to a low number of Pixtus members using this particular lens? This one does not seem to be all that popular, compared to certain other Zeiss ZE and ZF lenses, especially the 35mm, 50mm, and 100mm lenses, if I am reading this matter accurately on other forums. The 18mm does not seem to have been reviewed as favorably as the 21mm, if I recall correctly. It has been a while since I was strongly lusting for Zeiss glass, but I remain interested, so I looked at this thread.

Enjoy your Zeiss glass!

I do not ever recall getting so overwhelmed by a lens - all the way from 14mm to 500mm. So thanks for dialing in Rex

I had thought mostly about the 21mm or 85mm, but when researching on-line, became more interested in the 35mm 2.0. The new 25mm 2.0 really has folks talking on some sites, too. I reckon the 21mm would be a very logical place to start, as landscape shooting is suited to manual focus.

I have a 21mm and it is noticeably better than the 18. I tried the 18 because I wanted to go wide but the 21 is so much better I went that direction.

I had been using the original 21 with an adapter and I sold it and got the ZE.

This is the lens that made me sell all my L zooms and move to primes.
