Interesting!

I had read of this a while ago, when it was still in development. I am not (yet) a big fan of the NEX, but this would be a way to use my considerable investment in Canon glass on a compact camera. I was hoping the rumored Canon compact camera would be something that could use EF glass, but it looks like we are getting the G1X. (Not saying the G1X is bad; I may buy one.)

But, $400, plus the cost of a NEX, hmm....

Tested: Metabones EF to E-Mount adapter for Sony NEX Review | EOSHD.com

The adapter works as you’d expect with no lag, and OIS works fine. It really is like having a Canon mirrorless camera.

For $600, you could just buy yourself a T3i, or for less you could find yourself a used 40D or 50D. I see this being useful for videographers, but for photographers it's a roundabout expensive solution to a simple problem.

If you already have a lot of Canon glass and also want the flexibility of a NEX, it works. I have the expensive AF adapter for my A-mount to NEX. It is nice to have the flexibility to go compact or use the nice glass you already own.
