sigh...can we get a little love here?! perhaps a quoted paragraph or two?

In other news, perhaps we can get mkii's at a more reasonable rate, leaving mki's a smokin' deal. @ $700-$800 for a camera in decent shape, I'm not sure why they aren't flying off the shelves....I would expect them to go even lower with the release of a new 5d mkiii.

Ok I just read

eye control - Canon
"Theoretically, this "eye control" can detect where your eye is looking at and pick AF sensor closest to what ever you are looking at.

Why theoretically? Because I never find eye control to work well. Not on EOS-30 (Elan 7e), not on EOS-3.... "
PBase • View topic - what is eye control

eye-start autofocus - Minolta/Sony
"way that most of the bodies in Minolta's line-up activate the viewfinder displays and autofocus. Activating a combination of two sensors (one at the eyepiece, one in the handgrip) turns on the camera, something that ordinarily doesn't happen until you partially depress the shutter release."

I have Eye Controlled Focus on my EOS A2E. It works okay, but you have to make sure your eye is the same distance from the eye cup each time.
When you change your starting point, that's what messes with the system.
