Clifton...I own two of the non-OS Sigma lenses...and have been very happy with them...one of them I had to send back to Sigma to get Spec'd-Out...it had a slight front focus...they aligned it came back better than ever...the other-one...has been spot on since day one....

I had a VR1 the Sigma HSM's that I have are slightly faster than the older VR1...and I did not see enough of a difference to keep the VR1 so I sold it when I was still using Nikon heavily...and kept the HSM...I have since sold my Nikon version...but I still own my Sigma SA version for my SD14 and 3 years later it is still going strong...

Not the answer that you wanted but I thought I would share that with you...Camera Co-Op here in Houston had a VR1 and VR2 at one time...used...you might call them and ask them if they still do...both looked very clean...

You may also note that the Sigma with OS has a few new low dispertion glass elements that were not in the previous Sigma 70-200. Supposedly there is a notable improvement in performance.

Also, there is a short review on the Sigma with OS in this months Popular Photography.

Yea, in all the reading I've done on the Sigma is that it handles CA and lens flare much better than the older no OS versions.

Now if I can get either my Nikon 80-200 f2.8 AF-S or 105 f2.8 macro VR sold I'll jump on the sale at Adorama.

That's what I did. I sold my Nikon 80-200 2.8 to help finance the Sigma.

Well, I sold the lens on Ebay after about ten minutes. I guess my buy it now price was low. Regardless, I ended up picking up a VR1 version of the Nikon and it should be here Friday or Saturday.

Well, got the lens in today and all I can say is WOW. Can see this being one of my new favorites. on my D7000 just amazing and blazing focus speeds compared to my older af-s . Like a kid on Christmas morning.

Tomorrow going to spend part of day fine tuning my lenses to get the best out of each.

Nothing like a new lens! You just reminded me that I still have a few lenses that I need to fine tune. Looks like I know what I will be doing tomorrow.
