OH Boy ... I am waiting.

I am going to keep my D300s ... but a D800 would be a great new body to have as a primary.

Look forward to seeing some real concrete info and photos of the D800. ... unless Nikon goes flippy on everyone and creates a D700s. That would be funny and not so funny at the same time.

These things make me so sad. Of cameras and gear I can't afford at the moment. Why NIKON why? Oh well, I can have something new to dream about.

I am just a peon in the world of photography & technology, so I will ask the silly question.... Should I be concerned about anything technologically speaking for my D300? I mean should I be concerned with software upgrades or accessory incompatibility, etc when this sort of thing happens? Film is film, manual is manual, but is digital is ever changing and this part is new for me.

You'll be fine. They will still support the camera, just not make new ones.

^^ Agree.

AngieBaby, there are many photogs on here that run around with Film Cameras that still can utilize some of the lenses and gear of today.

No need to worry. All of the camera companies, like any other company, will come out with something new within a couple of years, but its not to say they still wont support it, nor does it say that your current equipment or that it won't work with any other add-on.

Just like a car, those get yearly updates, but yet you can still use the same mechanical know how on a new car as one would use on a car that is 10+ years old.
