We'll see when the tax refund gets here, and how nice the bonus is... but I can feel that T2i coming on!

Still waiting for Uncle Sugar to send me MY money back... but I received the book today. I've already soaked up half of it in one sitting! It's very well written, and easy to understand to a noob. I'm not a technical noob, I've worked in high technology all my life, so most of the concepts are easy to understand, but would be VERY easily understood by people who are not as technical.

I'm glad you guys recommended it. So far I think it will be an outstanding primer for photography. I'll keep it around to refer to, and to loan out to potential new photogs as I meet them.

Right now I'm just resisting the urge to pull the trigger and order my camera RFN!

Ordered the camera early Sunday morning after seeing prices go up in a few places. Also ordered a 16GB Class 10 card.

I sat today waiting for FedEx to deliver my box of goodies, and finished up Understanding Exposure. Excellent read! Very simple explanations of most of the general aspects of photography, and illustrated examples. Seeing what people are talking about really helps.

I got the camera and started checking out the settings, playing with the lens and adjustments... I'm going to concentrate on using M most of the time. I did switch to aperture priority to shoot a couple test pictures so I could get some shallow DOF. Very simple to do!

Definitely looking forward to participating in and learning from the community here from here on out!
