I think it looks like a great camera, but I do not plan on purchasing it. As I stated in another thread, I'm not interested in starting a new lens collection. Between my DSLR and X100, I think I'm set for the time being.

I agree... I would like to play around it... but it is bigger than my X100, which fits in most of my pockets (depending on pants/shorts). The x-pro prob would not fit in my pockets.... and when I need to break out the bigger camera I will just use my 5D Mark II (on the Mark III when that comes out).

I guess it depends on what you have before. I don't own a digital camera, and all my lenses are M mount so at some point I'll have compatibility.

If I didn't own an X100 I would definitely pre-order it.

I don't plan on owning it. Staying within the Canon EF and Nikon F-mount systems is my plan for the near future. Moreover, I will not likely spend nearly as much on photography in 2012 as in 2011 and 2010, trying to defer major expenses until late 2013 and beyond.

All-in-all the X Pro-1 appears to be a very interesting effort. While I am not aware of anyone that has yet fully tested a production model the possible drawbacks are: slow autofocus, and lack of focus peaking for manual lenses (when Fuji releases their M lens adapter). While I'm sure the electronic viewfinder will work well I'm not at all sure how well the optical finder will work, specially when using manual lenses.

On the plus side I expect that the Fujinon lenses will be very good.

Perhaps I should add that I have been following the progress of this new Fuji, and may consider one at some point in the future. Like darktiger, however, I think the X100 is about the right size for something more compact than a DSLR; anything significantly larger than an X100 might be about as much trouble to tote as a DSLR, and that assumes I need digital; I can carry my quite compact Nikon FM3A SLR if there is no hurry for images, especially once I finally purchase a pancake lens for it.

I would have liked to see Fuji introduce an X100 with a 35mm-ish lens, so perhaps if the X Pro-1 can be close enough to that ideal, and has the bugs worked out of it, I will re-consider in the future.
