So three weeks ago I am doing a session, it is a little warm and I am sweating. I go to change lenses and during the time that there is no lens on the camera a single drop of sweat falls into the camera and lands on the mirror. I gently wipe it off, put a lens on, take a couple test shots to make sure everything is still good, then we continue with the session.
After I get home, I take a look at the mirror and, not surprisingly, it has some streaks on it from dried sweat. My plan is to use a q-tip and remove any residue that's still on the mirror along with those streaks. But instead of "cleaning" the mirror, the q-tip just smeared the streaks around. I have used the camera since and there seems to be no problem.
Is there some kind of greasy coating on the mirror? Why would sweat just smear around instead of coming off?
Thanks.
