I just saw this on Nikon Rumors. I'm not surprised to see this lens by Tamron. I have the 28-75 and love it. However, I always wondered why they went with that focal lenght over the 24-70? I already have a 70-200 but I don't mind a little overlap. Actually, my 28-75 is my walk about lens and I love it. The only problem I have with it are ghost images when I shoot indoors and there is a bright window in the shot. This new lens has several low dispertion elements so I would think it will handle that much better.
