I was looking at this one on Amazon. My question is, can a woman easily move the legs on that thing? One of the reviews said you had to have gorilla strength to move the legs where you need them.
A tripod is going to be too big for me to carry around in most cases, and a monopod would require me to carry too much of the bulk of its weight so I was trying to find some alternatives. This seemed like a good compromise but not if I can't adjust it.
I'd love some feedback or recommendations.
Thanks!

You'll be fine. It is just marketing exaggeration.

I own a Gorillapod and the legs are very easy to adjust. Be sure to purchase the correct one that will support the weight of your camera body and heaviest lens.

Sorry! I thought I pasted the link. Also - I'm assuming I can't use it right out of the box like that? That some kind of ball head is needed? So much to think about!

Yes, you'll need a ball head. Giottos are very good for the price.

It look like that in the photo as well.

But without a ball head does it really have any flexibility of movement? I think all the pictures and review videos I've seen of it showed them using a ball head?

Yes, for ease of use you'll need a ball head. I use the Focus + ball head almost every week.

Thanks! Andre' - are the legs easy to move on the focus for a woman? I have a disability that gives me a weak grip so this is really important for me.
