Universal Arca camera plate? - 02-02-2006, 08:44 AM

Does anyone in the North Dallas area have one of these I could borrow for a couple of days? I've ordered an L bracket from RRS, but they aren't ready to ship yet. I have a headshot shoot on Saturday and it sure would be nice to clamp the body to the tripod. I've been just covering the bare head with a towel and using the tripod as a rest, but I thought I'd toss out the question? Extra points (I'll buy you drinks ) if you're coming to the lunch today and bring it with you!

Don't you use the 70-200 for headshots?

Scott, I have one that fits the 200, you saw it at the Tiger Shoot. Unfortunately I won't be out that way this weekend, but if you wanna try to meet halfway or something Friday evening, you're welcome to it. I'll need it back before the 10th.

I too am waiting for the rrs L-bracket. Have you looked at the Kirk? They look a little bulkier, but they're shipping already.

In the past yes, but now that I have the 105 f/2 and the 180 f/2.8, I want to give the primes a try too.

Thanks Stevil, I doubt I'll have the time between now and then. I may just use the 70-200 and do the camera rest for the primes. I do have a, gasp, old Vivitar pan/tilt tripod with a universal base, but it seems so silly to have the D200 sitting on a 25 year old, $30 wobbling hunk of aluminum. If it fell over I would not be happy
