The 20D Canon Just Arrived

Needless to say I'm a little excited. :D Been waiting since I ordered it last Monday the 4th and it's finally here. I can hardly wait to start shooting this camera. Probably start with reading the instuctions and charging the battery. It's a major step up from my Olympus point and shoot 2.1 and I don't want to do something stupid. Normally instuctions get read if I run into trouble but not this time.

Plus I'm looking forward to trying my old lenses out from the Canon Elan II.

One is labeled Canon Ultrasonic zoom lens EF 75-300mm 1:4-5.6
Other one is Canon Ultrasonic zoom lens EF 28-80mm 1:3.5-5.6

Don't really know what to expect but I'll find out and hope to be shooting half as good as some I've seen here. Expect questions in the near future.

Welcome Roy,

You will absolutely love the 20D. I have the same 75-300 lens from the Elan IIe era as well!! I just tested it today and am in the process of downloading to the computer -- I'll let you know how it turns out.

and got these photos Tuesday evening. I don't even know what I'm doing :oops: I couldn't wait any longer. There's plenty to learn. :shock:

I used the kit lens on the rose with just the programmed close-up.

I think I used the 75-300 on the photo of my 6 1/2 year old black lab. I think it was in potrait mode.









Got some learnin to do no doubt but it's going to be fun!

man I don't know if I can wait the 12 months before Canon annouces a new body. (normal turn around is about 18 months for Canon). The digi rebel xt is a steal at $799-899 considering I was ready to drop over $2k for a D60 just two years ago now.

sure would like to see a prosumer body at around 11mp...that would fit me pretty nicely.
