Glad to see we have quite a few Nikon shooters here.....

Been with Nikon since I started. I have glass dating back from the 1940's......No I am not that old. Just have some old gear. One of my favorite parts of the Nikon system always was that even as the never Nikon cameras were developed the old lens could still be used. The manual focus lens would still work on the Auto focus cameras......that way when you had a wonderful piece of glass it did not become obsolete. Nikon a true professionals camera system. Just an opinion.......

I apologize... my poll should've been more thought out. There are several obvious camera manufacturers that I've left off the list. My bad! Maybe Abel can come up with a better one and make it sticky. It should expire at the end of the year I think.

I saw that and just couldn't understand how you could have not included, the Wisner 16x20 given it's popularity.

Man I wished I had seen this post earlier this week! A teacher at the college had a D70 with a 24-80 (I think that was the lens size) he wanted to sell. He was keeping his cards and everything else but he was only asking $575 for it. I seriously thought about buying it to try and resale it for a small profit but one of his students bought it. I don't know haw well used it was but it looked like new. He teaches photography and from the looks of all his stuff like flash, lenes and the cases he keeps everything in he takes very good care of his equipment. I probably shouldn't have even mentioned this since it's gone but hey the girl might decide she needs the money for books next semester so I'll keep my ears open.

Now for the fun part!!!!!
Hey PeteQ looks like Nikon got knocked back a few notches Just playing with ya~!

Sorry but it was a 35-70. Not sure it's a good lens or not but it looked to be in great shape. I'm sure it was one of his least used lenes or he wouldn't have let it go with the camera. He kept his other lenes because he said he was getting a D200.

Thanks John, but I needed something wider than that anyway (hence why I want the 18-70 lens :D)

People still buy the books for classes? I stopped after my sophmore year, I realized I never read them or did any homework so I might as well save my money. Yes, I'm the worst college student ever. I think I actually bought one book for a class last semester, it was a math class that I felt I just HAD to pass since I've failed/dropped algebra 3 times now...and I did, but I still never read the damn book. Oh yeah, to be on topic...I shoot Canon, although I have nothing against Nikon, I just started with Canon and have stuck with it! I always wonder about the supposed Nikon ergonomics, everytime I've held a Nikon it felt funky in my hands, maybe I'm just too used to Canon the shutter button on the D70 just doesn't fall in the right spot for me I have to reach upwards for it or something funky.

20D's rock! I use them for all of my wedding gigs.

Okay, okay, it was just that one shoot... but my vote is with Canon.

Wil, it's been 3 months since I let you shoot with my 1D MkII at the Roughrider's game. I'd figure you'd have bought a Canon before now!

I would say "come to the light side" but since Canon's do so well at high ISOs "come to the dark side" might actually be more appropriate.

I talked to the girl who bought the D70 aith the 35-70 lens and she said she kind of wishes she hadn't bought it now because money will be tight after buying books for the Fall Semester. So,,, It might be back up for sell if anyone is interrested. May even be able to get it for a few less than she paid for it but I kind of doubt that since $575 seems like a pretty good price. If it does come back up for sell I'll post it in the F.S section. Heck I might buy it this time but of course there will be a small markup if I do .

Colin if your in the market for a Nikon this camera might be worth looking at since it's only $575. I know the lens isn't as wide as you want but you could always sell it to finance the lens you do want. Also you would be getting a D70 with a lens for about what you would pay for a D50 without a lens. I'm not up on the Nikons that much but I would figure the D70 is better than the D50 and I think the price is pretty good. I'm still going to keep intouch with the girl and if she decides to sell I'll PM you just incase you decide you want to look at it.

I can't believe nobody has checked "whats a camera"!
