Camera Straps - 01-09-2005, 01:05 PM

I think I'm going to be in the market for a new camera strap sometime soon. I The one that came with the 20D is uncomfortable for me. OpTech straps seem to come highly recommended, but they have several models.

Does anyone have a good camera strap to recommend?

You should look for OpTech pro loop strap.
has soft connectors instead of plastic connectors. Very comfy strap (IMHO).

Been using it with 10D/70-200/2.8/grip and it helped a lot...

Here is a link to it on B&H:

My choice also. I have two of them and they are very comfortable. They have a wide soft pad at the area that surrounds your neck. I'll bet 90% of the DSLR owners with heavy lenses use this strap. :)

i also have a similar optitech strp but have since switch over to the plain canon on.

i use a canon e1 hand strap on my 10d/bged setup and also the strap supplied with my camera.

ive gotten the hang of not wearing it around my neck but over my shoulder while still having my hand in the e1 strap...

thats been very comfortable for me even with my heft 70-200 f2.8L

FWIW, For me! Though I realize, probably not for everyone...I stupidly, severely injured my left hand a few years back!

Personal Canon Rule #1. DO NOT carry that expensive piece of glass and metal anywhere without enlisting every possible means of protecting it from accidental harm!

I don't even carry it from the car to the house without the strap around my neck!

I also have hand straps, but I always use the neck strap too. I Consider it Insurance against another stupid mistake!

When I have it on my BushHawk, I have 2 neck straps. BushHawk and Canon.

I vote for the OpTech. I've been using them for 5 or 6 years with no problems.
