I would second the suggestion on the hyperdrive.

Also, you may want to shoot less than full res jpg for some photos that you may not be printing at all. If this is a personal trip you won't need every image to be a RAW file. When on trips, I do tend to shoot a lot more jpg (large normal or even medium-normal) since most of the pictures will be vacation snapshots. However, if I'm shooting something that I know I may want to see as a big print, I'll switch to RAW (or large-fine).

Fry's sells a device similar to the Epson devices. They come with a 40/60 GB 2.5" HDD and a case that has all the usual cardslots, batteries, etc. pop the card in, press the xfer button, images are moved, card cleaned. USB to computer when you get home. No image display, very simple.

and the 60GB was ~$120 iirc. They may have more sizes but I remember seeing the 40 and 60gb models.

I can't find it on their website (outpost) but see it in the stores every time I go.
