How to Calibrate my laptop? - 09-05-2006, 10:24 PM

I hope to get an idea here how to calibrate my laptop and my new Lcd 19" wide screen monitor. a friend gave a software called spyder2pro Studio to calibrate my laptop & my monitor, but I don't know how exactly to use it, I tried it, but didn't work, I don't mind to pay if I have to, but I would like to have this done, my pictures look nice in my laptop, but really uglies when I print them. Please help me with this issue.

Did you use the hardware that came with the software? Did you turn out all of the lights. The Spyder doesn't work very well in bright ambient light. Sometimes the profile gets "lost". I've had that happen. Even profile chooser doesn't seem to know where the profile is. Just rerun Spyder...

You need a hardware/software pkg. A hardware "Spyder" device attachés in front of the monitor when the software runs, which sets the monitors output. Gretag MacBeth EyeOne 2 is what I use.

As I remember it the software must be installed before you plug the sensor in. At some point during the install it will tell you when to plug the sensor in. You may have to uninstall and start all over.
