I have only a 1GB SanDisk Ultra II card.
I like it. Write speed is actually limited by the 300d so it seems quite slow. But when transferring off the card onto my computer I can move a full card in about 15 minutes. This again is very dependent on the type of card reader in use.
I'll probably pick up something else in the next month or so, although I rarely fill up a card in an outing even when shooting RAW.

i use a Hitachi 4g Microdrive that I too kout of a Muvo2 MP3 Player... Been using it since April and have about 7,000 shots on it so far.
it writes a little slow compared to faster 80x cards but I love the capability of storing almost 600 RAW files from my 10d
the MP3 player ran me $200 and i sold the empty case and cords for like $40 so it was a pretty cost efficient investment!

I have two Sandisk 512MB cards, one is an Ultra II, the other is an Extreme. I also have a 4GB microdrive but I only use that as a last-resort backup because it's noticeably slower especially when shooting RAW. The D70 can shoot as fast as the card can handle once the buffer is full, so write speed can have a pretty significant impact.
BTW azinwood, you might want to consider a faster card reader, 15 minutes is S-L-O-W for downloading a full Ultra II card. With my Lexar CF reader I average 10-11MB/s for the Sandisk cards, which means less than a minute for a full 512MB card.

I have an "old" 512MB Sandisk CF that I purchased with my A80 this summer. Since getting my 20D and shooting RAW I've added two 1GB Sandisk Ultra II CF cards and love 'em.

I use mostly 1gig UltraII cards, and I have an Hitachi 4gig Microdrive, that I lucked into at dealer cost in a trade-off type deal from MyDigitalDiscounts; Caused by a critical misrepresentation of another OEM MD they were selling. (MDD was not informed of limitations on the drive by their supplier.) MDD is a very reputable online dealer...A+ IMHO.
I also have an "X's Drive Pro" 40gig storage drive that I can copy my cards to, (directly thru built in card slots), to free them for reuse when I am away from my computer.

I have three cards at the moment:
Lexar 1GB 80x
Lexar 512MB 40x
Lexar 512MB 8x
I mostly keep the 1GB card in the camera since I can shoot 180+ NEFs and download them fast to the computer. Haven't shot more than that between loadings yet. The other two cards were used in my old CoolPix880.

I've got a Lexar 40x 512mb, Sandisk Ultra II 512mb, Sandisk standard 512mb and a Kingston standard (probably like 16x) 256mb. I'd like to pick up a Sandisk Ultra II 1gb or two in the future.

Have a Sandisk 1 Gig (the normal type) and 2 generic 128MB CFs.
I usually have not seen much of a differance in the speed when taking pics with a normal Sandisk and a Sandisk Ultra II. I tried both within minutes of each other and both started to slow down after holding the shutter button down for about 36 pics. The lag after that was noticable. The read from the card later for preview did have a little noticable time lag between the two.
The only reason I have the 2 128s is that I found them at Microcenter last week for $7 each. Can't beat that.

I have a 1 gig and a 2 gig Sandisk Ultra II. I've been pretty pleased with them so far. I was filling the 1 gig up pretty quickly, so I added another 2 gig card.

I bought a 1GB Transcend 45X for 200 bucks (newegg)..where months later, the Sandisk Ultra II 1GB's went down to 100 dollars.
Ranks up there with when we bought my wife's Xterra, literally two weeks later they threw in another $1500.00 rebate. Bah.

I've got a sandisk ultra II 1gb, it's been flawless. The times I've run out of room on my card, I've had to crack open my powerbook and suck em' down to it (download lingo) so I've been looking for another, less clumsy, less geeky way of suckin' them down
So far, I've found about 4 drives out there that are stand alone (OTG - on-the-go)
no computer required, just connect your camera to the hard drive and suck em' down.

LOOK OTG
Magic Box OTG
These all use 2.5" or 1.8" laptop drives, and are USB 2.0, so they "suck em' down" pretty fast.

A handfull of Lexar Professional 40x 512MB - looking to go to 1GB card(s). I'm a little apprehensive about going with larger cards in case anything should happen to make image recovery not possible.
