Nikon D50 Memory - 10-26-2006, 06:48 PM

I am somewhat new to photography and just getting my feet wet. I recently purchased a D50 and have a question about memory. I noticed in the manual (yes, I read most of it, which I know is not typical for a guy to do) and noticed that Nikon only tested up to a 1GB SD card. I was wondering if anyone uses anything higher than that in their D50, and if so how big and what brand? I don't want to spend $$ on something I can't use.

According to Steve's Digicam forum, the limit is 2GB. This may not be current information.

Hello. I also have a D50 and have a 2 GIG SanDisk card(blue card, not extreme) and have had no problems with it. Also have a 1 GIG SanDisk card and never had problems with it either. HTH

If I heard correctly, the d50 will only format mc's 2 gigs and under. I've experience that problem when i bought a 4 gig for my d50 but it wouldn't format it. I read around about it and they say the d50 is only compatible with mc's that are <2.
