As for a disappointing purchase... I don't know that I had one this year.....
I am overly concerned with looking cool.

I bought a card reader from iStor that didn't work plug 'n play, didn't have the proper drivers for Windows XP Service Pack 2 on the CD, and didn't have any drivers available for it on the support website.

My most disappointing purchase was the Nikon 80-400mm f/4.5. Focus seemed slow. Sold it and replaced it with the Nikon 400mm f/2.8

My most disappointing purchase was my cheap radio transmitter/trigger from E-Bay. The first one didn't work, the second didn't work, but third times a charm. I'm looking forward to really using it, but, gosh, did I have to wait a long time since I first ordered it (late Oct.)

I guess the only thing that bothers me about my purchases is that I wasn't able to buy all the stuff I wanted....Namely L's

The Canon EF 50 mm 2.5 Compact Macro. Very slow to focus and basicly when I learned yet again that you get what you pay for, at 99.00 dollars what could you expect? I sold it and bought the 100 mm 2.8 Macro, much better. Now that I have the "L" lenses I have to wonder if I should have fessed up the money for the "L" Macro lens.
