Probably my flash bracket. It's heavy and cumbersome... but cheap for what it does, so I oughta be grateful.

My One Model Place subscription. IMHO - nothing but flakes on that site. They must be rolling in the $. Every single contact I have made on that site has either lead to a no show, no response after inquiry or just plain non-professional interaction. I also get very tired (and quite disturbed) to see all the children that are placed on there by their parents. Not that I am against kid models..but to place their practically newborn child on a site like that bothers me. Needless to say...I won't be renewing.

Have to agree the FONG LS...
And silly me purchased two for both my SB800's. They are very
cumbersome. Actually, the diffuser that came with the SB's do a much better job than the Fong LS.
I '' sell them on this board around the first of the year.

Canon ET-65 II lens hood. Seems cheaply made for what I paid for it ($24), I don't like the way it "clips" onto the lens, and it's loose and flimsy. However, it does work. Now they have a version III.

Not a purchase, but a huge dissapointment. I rented the canon EF 70-200 L f/2.8 IS USM and I am not that impressed. I get as sharp images from my 70-300 f/4-5.6 IS USM as this lens. I have been saving for this lens and decided to rent it to check it out. Every thing I have read and heard is that this is an awesome lens, but this experience has me second guessing? I was expecting to get incredibly sharp images, but did not. Did I just get a poor copy from rentglass.com?

I'm impressed with mine but I'm not a pixel peeper, just will it do the job I want it to.

I would say that if your experience didn't match up with all the reviews you've read, then there was possibly something wrong with the lens. I have the non-IS version, and the images I shoot are tack sharp. It really is a great lens IMO.

I didn't buy it but it was the biggest disappointment of the year.

The Leica M8 and all it's initial faults and problems, many which still have to be addressed.

A very poor start for what should have been the finest camera released in 2006.

Mine was the purchase of the Expodisc.
I've done some back to back shots in the studio with and without and my D200 in-camera auto white balance usually does a better job.

The f/4 version is sharp - but it doesn't go to f/2.8 which can save your butt in many situations. Mine is BEAUTIFUL.

As for me, I think it is my Lensbaby 2.0. Just don't use it enough and I'm not completely sold on the effects. At least it was a cheap purchase!

My 70-200IS F2.8 is my absolute favorite zoom of all time.

As far as the Lensbaby and Fong Dong/milkjug comments... I learned my lesson early on in my video days about buying every gadget that seemed cool at the time. I know both of these products work for some people and they like em...I am not one of those people. It's interesting to see others posting here about their displeasure with em...Just glad I resisted those 2 particular purchases.

I have to chime in and say I like the Fong Lightsphere.. its way better results than with the Sto-fen diffuser I was using...

As for a disappointing purchase... I don't know that I had one this year.....
