A new Leica Digilux 3 and before that a Olympus 11-22.
I'm still learning the Leica but that 11-22 is crystal clear and sharp.

My best purchase was my 1Ds MarkII. Man o Man, what a camera. O Yes, and all that "L" glass that makes the 1Ds shine.

Geez, I went all year without buying a new lens, and in fact sold one on eBay. The only photo gear I bought this year was a tripod and an SU-800 flash commander, neither of which I've been particularly thrilled with. I guess my favorite expenditures this year, which were at least related to photogaphy if not actual gear purchases, were the trips we took.
