I've been a Cross Platform (Mac-PC-UNIX-Midrange-Big Iron) network engineer and consultant since 1985. I've put in a ton of the Buffalo TerraStation Pros for a bunch of clients since they came out. They seem to reliable, easy to use, virtually trouble-free, idiot-proof, quick solutions to needing lots of storage space NOW. It is what it is, nothing more. It is NOT a "server" in the true sense of the word. It is just lots of space that you can get up and running quickly. Buffalo's tech support seems pretty sharp, too. While I won't whole-hartedly endorse anything, if you need tons of storage real quick at a bargain price, this will work.
