Ok folks, I just went thru a fiasco while shopping for my D50 & I found out there are some really shady camera dealers located in NY & NJ that sell 'gray market' cameras. They have high pressure sales tactics & try to upsell you on other items. I placed my order but luckily it wasn't processed. Instead it just logs your info & a salesman calls you & tries to upsell you. He told me it didn't come with a battery & charger & so I looked on the PC to double check & I told him that it in fact did as well as a U.S. warranty....he then told me that they honored the warranty, not Nikon USA...he said I'd have to pay more for the 'American' version & for the one that came with a regular battery & charger, and not a 'disposable' battery....right then & there I told him to cancel my order. I immediately called back to speak with a manager & he was a jerk...he just said, it doesn't matter we don't have it in stock & won't be getting anymore. So I called on the sales line again to verify they had them in stock & the sales guy said they had multiple units that could ship out right then.....
Be VERY careful if the business is anywhere close to NY...also, call them & see if the folks have Jersey accents. If so, stay away!
