B&H Codes - 02-13-2007, 09:31 AM

Can someone please explain what these codes are, how you get them and can anyone use them? I always see them mentioned here and don't really understand what they are. Also, does anyone know what the current one is? The last one I saw was psjan070*. Thanks in advance.

psjan07***

Enter the above characters in the "product search" box on the left side of the B&H homepage. Make sure you include the asterisks. Will give you show specials on equipment.

The club is The Secret Order of the Kooky Code
and as long as you know or can decode the code you can use it.

Makes you wonder how many more secret codes ther are.
The discount is very small compared to posted prices.
Compare and see for youself.

This information below may or may not be correct because I am relying on my memory. Someone will have to try it. I did try it myself then, but had no money to buy with.

Some where, (here or on Fred Miranda), someone mentioned to enter "ps%%". The % (percent character) acts as a wildcard searcher, or something like that. Doing this will present either all or the latest "ps" code(s).

I would recommend exploring further and try entering "psfeb%%". Reason? We are in the middle of that month. In December, it must have been "psdec_ _ _ ". You know what I mean?

B&H sponsors a number of seminars and workshops each year. The codes are actually special prices that they print in a catalog for people who attend. They publish three or four of these specials catalogs each year. The current one is psjan07 plus a three digit item number. Last year you could access a special section of the B&H site that listed these items, but this year you have to enter a search for the special item number. When I called and ordered some of the items out of the special catalog, I was asked which event I attended, where and what date. It looks as if they are trying to keep people who did not attend from getting the special prices. They are not great deals, but will save you a few bucks.

The prices in the special catalog are good through April 15, 2007. It appears that using the *** rather than the actual number from the show special catalog is what has stopped working. Based on my last order experience with the questions they asked about what I attended to get the catalog, it appears that B&H is doing everything they can to limit those specials to the people who attended one of their events.

Just enter PSJAN07 and three numbers in the search box. For example, PSJAN07027

Start with PSJAN07001 and work your way up. The numbers are still working. Just takes longer.
